latest news

Hello, friends! I have a quick update for you all, regarding the 2020 photography season. It's mostly good news, as you can see.

I will be doing all sessions outdoors, for starters, with safety protocols in place, listed below. Studio sessions will resume in mid-June, with new policies instated for those, as well.

All currently scheduled senior, headshot and and family clients will be contacted this week with your confirmations and all the guidelines. I am so excited to get back to doing what I love, for people I love. Safely. See you soon!

Session safety guidelines and news for 2020

Here is what I plan to do in order to keep us all safe as we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic.

1) All family sessions will take place outdoors for the remainder of the summer. Family sessions will be limited to groups of 10 people and under. I will maintain a social distance of 6 or more feet away from you at all times while photographing your family. As most of you know, because of my gear and the style of my work, this will not be much different than the way I normally shoot! I just won't be hugging you like I used to, or running up to you to fix your hair. I will have to use my words, instead.

2) Lifestyle newborn/family sessions will have an outdoor component whenever possible - and honestly, I think this will be a beautiful and unique way to document your new baby! I will still be happy to come to your home, and if you want some indoor images I will wear a mask if you prefer it and refrain from touching you or your little one. Together we will figure out the best and safest way to make some beautiful images of you and your new baby.

3) Studio sessions will be available for high school seniors and individual headshots only, with a limit of two people in the studio at a time - the person being photographed and one support person. If you would like to bring one  or two  more people along, please mention it to me first and we'll figure something out. I often split these sessions between studio and outdoors, and I will continue to offer that option. If you prefer I wear a mask for your studio session, I will be happy to do so.

4) I have added a new COVID-19-specific clause to my contract. You'll need to agree and sign it. Basically, it acknowledges that I will do my best to behave in a safe manner for you, and that you know the risks of leaving your home during this time and don't plan to hold me responsible if something happens.

5) Per that agreement, I am asking all clients to confirm that they have not been presenting any symptoms of COVID-19, nor have they been exposed to the virus, in the 14 days prior to our session, and I will do the same. I also ask that clients inform me if they become symptomatic or are diagnosed with COVID-19 during the 14 days after our session. And finally, I ask that those people in known at-risk groups avoid photo sessions altogether until it's safer.

6) I will be providing hand sanitizer in the studio for your use, and using it frequently myself. I will refrain from touching clients, and thoroughly cleaning the studio and any props or furniture used during our session.

7) At this time, I am still planning to offer hair and makeup services to those that want it. The artists I work with are licensed and will be carefully following strict safety measures as they work. I am still waiting to hear specifics, and will update you as I know more.

If you have concerns, questions, or worries about any of the above, please know that you can come to me with them. I treasure our relationship and I want you to feel safe and comfortable with me, not only during our session, but with anything that gives you uncertainty about doing photo shoots these days.

Thank you for your support, as always. I am so grateful to you all for your friendship, kindness, and for allowing me to photograph you and your beautiful families. I love seeing you year after year!
